Trumpet-Tomasz Wozniak

T.WOZNIAKRecognized as one of the best Polish trumpeters of the younger generation, Tomasz Wozniak has earned the position of an excellent soloist-concert artist, chamber musician and first class orchestral player. Born in 1979 in Rzeszów, he started to play the trumpet at the age of 10 and received his formal music education at three different schools: Elementary Music School in Jaslo studying with Prof Ireneusz Fatyga, Music Lyceum in Rzeszów with Prof. Józef Nawojski and at the Frederic Chopin University in Warsaw with Prof. Krzysztof Bednarczyk. Upon graduation he was awarded Master of Arts Degree. After gaining the fellowship from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Poland Tomasz continued his studies from 2004 at the Conservatoire Superieure in Paris with Prof. Guy Touvron. From the early age on Tomasz has excelled in winning numerous comptetitions: Krosno 1993-First Prize, Rzeszów 1993-Second Prize, Czestochowa 1995-Fourth Prize. At the National Trumpet Competition in Kalisz in 1996 the young artist received the First Prize, Grand Prix and "Appollo's Charriot"-a special award founded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Poland. In 1998 he received a scholarschip from the National Children Foundation. In 2002 Tomasz won Third Prize at the National Festival in Kalisz in the open category. In 2003 Tomasz Wozniak was awarded two times: First Prize with the Brass Quartet at the Yamaha Competition for Brass Instruments in Poznan and Second Prize at the Chamber Music Competition in Warsaw. At the 7-th International Ruhr Classic  Competition 2004 in Marl Tomasz gained a special Chamber Music Award. And finally in 2003 and 2006 at the most prestigeous Maurice Andre Competition in Paris the artist won the semifinals. Being enormously interested in various educational programs Tomasz participated in masterclasses of first class trumpeters like Andre Henry in Kalisz, Sergei Nakariakow in Warsaw, Gabrielle Cassone in Porcia, Reinhld Friedrich & Fred Mills in Brussels and Andrea Giufredi in Lieksa. Winning acclaim for his artistic creativity and vast solo and chamber music repertoire ranging form Baroque to Modern Music, Tomasz has been invited to be the soloist with: A. Malawski Philharmonic in Rzeszów, B. Huberman Philharmonic in Czestochowa, Frederic Chopin University Orchestra in Warsaw and Kiev Philharmonic. He also concertized at the Royal Palace in Warsaw and in different concerts halls of Germany, Italy and France.
Tomasz took part in the following Festivals: Warsaw Autumn- 2005, 2006, 2010, Modern Music Laboratory in Warsaw 2006 and Bialystok 2010, National Trumpet Festival in Kalisz 2005 and 2008, International Festival of Organ & Chamber Music " Ars Musica" in Iwonicz 2006 and 2010, Prague Spring 2006, Warsaw Symposium 2008.
As an orchestral instrumentalist Tomasz played with Sinfonia Varsovia, National Philharmonic and National Opera House in Warsaw, A.Malawski Philharmonic in Rzeszow, Jeunesses Musicales and L'Orchestre of the Conservatoire Superieur in Paris. During the 2005-2007 season Tomasz held the position of the first Trumpeter of the Philharmonia Podlaska.
The Artist played under the baton of such world class conductors as: K. Penderecki, J. Semkov, A. Wit, J. Maksymiuk, M. Kaspszyk, K.Kord, M.J.Błaszczyk, W. Rajski, M. Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, M. Pijarowski, T. Wojciechowski, K. Bumann, M. Ziml, Sz. Kawalla, K. Słowiński, P.Sułkowski, Ł. Borowicz.
Tomasz has been an advocate of contemporary music and presented many world premieres of new works of M. Borkowski, M. Błażewicz, A. Nawrocka.
Presently the artist is a memeber of the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw.
